Meet the Team
Welcome to the land of the Tree Toons, standing at the edge of the wood and the world for such a time as this.
We invite you to join our e-team and stand at the edge with us. The galleries of Toons you see on this site are archived from years past, recent past and will be home to Treetoons as they stand by to tell their and Merferd's stories. Whether it's painting on butt ugly boarded up buildings in St Louis, or on a napkin at Eat Rite, or a worker's apron at the hardware, Merferd is about all of us being special creations, gifts to each other from a Creator Father. |

Welcome to the Tree Toons Stand
SAP FLOWS on in the Tree Toon stand. Where Merferd is prophetic, Red Elm is a seer. Saving the earth, people and the press is a large task, but not if one is as moved as a Merferd and as tenured as a tree.
A Note From the Artist
Welcome! And thank you for coming to the Tree Toon Stand. If I tell you a little about my characters, then you will also know a little about myself. When we begin to know a little about us characters and the creation, then in like manor, we begin to know a little more about the Creator.
For 40 years I've doodled Merferd on anything that could be drawn on; highschool, then seminary, then business office scrap. My wife Theresa and I always left an inking of Merferd on a napkin with an encouraging word with the tip tucked in for every waitress or waiter who ever waited on us. In 2005 one of my tree guys caught me doodling a treetoon and asked me to put it on their work t-shirts. My four daughters, their friends, and all my nieces and nephews also wanted Merferd on shirts as well. At that point I decided to take Merferd and his side kicks the Tree Toons off of office scrap and begin their forest path toward publishing. On that path they have been published in the St. Louis Post Dispatch on occasion, and in other news papers and magazines. The Summersville Beacon newspaper in the National Scenic Riverways of Missouri was their first faithul 'home', and the Healthy Planet magazine in St Louis has recently adopted them as their home town home. Again, thanks for hanging around here with the Treetoons and me. Phil |
